HOW DO I SUBMIT WRITING OR ART?

HOW DO I JOIN STAFF?

Check out our submit page to find out more about submitting writing or art to The Colton Review. There you can find submission guidelines and contracts, information about submission deadlines, a model release for photography, and contact information for the Co-Editors.

The Colton Review is entirely produced by students, and we always welcome more students to join our staff. Email the Co-Editors at coltonreview@email.meredith.edu to find out more about becoming a Writer-Editor. Meetings take place on Wednesday mornings in Lux 234 during the 10 o'clock hour.

WHY SHOULD I SUBMIT TO THE COLTON REVIEW?

WHERE CAN I FIND A COPY OF THE JOURNAL?

The Colton Review thrives when we receive creative writing and art from the Meredith community. No matter if you're an English or art major, have never taken a formal creative writing or art class, haven't ever published writing before, or are a widely-published faculty member, we want to showcase the creativity of Meredith College. Submitting to The Colton Review gives you the chance to contribute to a student-produced initiative to highlight the beautiful works Meredith students, faculty, and staff create, and it also gives you the opportunity to be recognized for your art or writing in our annual in-house awards or at the NC College Media Association conferences.

Print copies of The Colton Review can be found for free on campus in the Gaddy-Hamrick Art Center or Lux Hall. You can also email Rosemarie Cafaldo, Administrative Assistant in the English Department, at rcafaldo@meredith.edu to schedule a time to pick up a copy or visit her Lux Hall office on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings from 8-12. Beginning with the 2020 edition of the journal, volumes are also published online on our Issuu page.

WHO CAN SUBMIT TO THE COLTON REVIEW?

CAN I SUBMIT IF MY WRITING IS UNDER CONSIDERATION ELSEWHERE?

Anyone in the Meredith community can submit to The Colton Review—that means students, faculty, and staff. We welcome submissions from anyone who enjoys writing or creating art, not just English or art majors. We cannot publish work from alumnae, but we invite interested alums to email us about our blog's alumnae spotlight series.

The Colton Review does not ask for exclusive publishing rights, so simultaneous submissions are allowed. However, many other journals do ask for exclusive publishing rights, so if you are submitting simultaneously, please check other literary magazines' guidelines. If you need to withdraw a submission, email us.
